Tomato production provides us with one of the most popular foods in the world. Whether you call it a fruit or vegetable, it provides many vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants. Tomatoes provide many health benefits and may even reduce some risks of heart disease. Along with these very tangible benefits, the tomato market topped $3 billion in 2019. This crop’s importance can be seen in health benefits and profitability for farmers.
The Metalosate Advantage
Metalosate products provide benefits for tomato production like increased yield, quality and health. Nurturing tomato plants can be particularly difficult since they can be in various stages of production at the same time, and because of this, the plant needs to be supplemented with multiple minerals at a single time to support those various growth stages. Metalosate products provide amino acid chelated nutrients that move through the plant to growing points. This delivers nutrients to the areas the plant needs it most and boosts the plant’s energy by supplementing it with amino acids.
Real World Results
For decades tomato growers have used Metalosate to increase productivity of their crops. As stated previously tomatoes could be flowering, growing fruit and in-harvest all at once, so supplementation of various nutrients creates better outcomes. In a recent trial it was evaluated whether Metalosate combination (like Metalosate Multimineral, Metalosate Crop-Up and Metalosate Tropical) products would increase yields over a regular recommended rate of other fertilizers. This was done by evaluating for treatments with no fertilizer, just other fertilizer and various rates of Metalosate products.
Table 1 demonstrates that even half the recommended rate of application of Metalosate Multimineral the yield increase measured over 23 percent over the grower standard, which equated to 39 percent above the treatment with no fertilizer. While the tailored program which included Metalosate® Tropical™, Metalosate® Crop Up® and Metalosate® Multimineral™ increased yield by 85 percent. This study showed increases in total tomatoes and overall weight of harvest.
Metalosate can help increase yield in tomatoes, especially when used to enhance current stages of growth. That’s Nutrition Delivered.
